Cookie Policy
How browser storage is used and tested.
IPGlance checks whether common browser-storage features are available. This policy distinguishes that capability test from storing information and explains the technologies that may support the site.
Effective: October 28, 2026Detecting that cookies or local storage are supported does not mean IPGlance can read information saved by unrelated websites. Browsers separate site storage by origin.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text value a website can ask a browser to store. Local storage, session storage, and IndexedDB are related browser technologies used for preferences, session state, performance, or application functions. Each technology has different behavior and retention.
2. The storage capability test
The browser-capabilities report may show whether cookies, local storage, session storage, and IndexedDB are supported or blocked. This is a technical availability check. It helps explain how the browser is configured and why some web features may work differently.
The check does not expose the contents of storage created by other websites. Browser security rules prevent one ordinary site from reading another site’s private storage.
3. Technologies that may be used by IPGlance
Strictly necessary operation
WordPress, security controls, hosting systems, and preview or administration functions may use cookies or temporary session values required to deliver, protect, or manage the website. Blocking these technologies can affect navigation, forms, or administrative functions.
Preferences and interface state
Where a visitor chooses a setting—such as a display preference or an interface state—the browser may retain that choice so it does not have to be selected again. If no preference-storage feature is active, the choice may last only for the current page or session.
Contact-form protection
The contact form uses a time-limited security token to reduce forged submissions. The token supports form security and does not replace the information a visitor deliberately enters.
Advertising and measurement
When Google AdSense is active, Google and other advertising vendors may place or read cookies and use web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to deliver, measure, limit, and personalize ads. Advertising cookies may be based on visits to this website and other websites. Visitors can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings.
For visitors in regions where consent is required, non-essential advertising storage and personalization should be controlled through the consent choices presented on the site. Refusing personalized advertising does not necessarily remove all advertising; non-personalized or limited ads may still be shown where supported.
4. Third-party requests
Network-information, mapping, content-delivery, hosting, and other infrastructure providers may receive routine request data when their resources are loaded. Those providers may apply their own storage practices under their policies. IPGlance does not control cookies set directly by an independent provider.
5. Managing cookies and storage
Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies and site data. You can usually control these settings for all sites or for IPGlance alone. Private browsing may remove some session data when the window closes, while extensions or hardened settings may block storage entirely.
- Blocking necessary storage may prevent forms or preferences from working correctly.
- Deleting site data can reset saved choices.
- Blocking third-party resources can make maps or network information unavailable.
- A VPN changes the visible network route but does not automatically block browser storage.
6. Policy updates and questions
This policy may be revised when storage practices, service providers, analytics, advertising, or consent requirements change. The effective date will be updated when a revision is made.
Questions about cookies or browser storage can be submitted through the Contact page.
