Understand what the results can—and cannot—prove.
IPGlance translates technical browser and network signals into a readable report. Those signals are useful for orientation and troubleshooting, but they have important limits.
Effective: October 28, 2026A result describes what the current session appears to reveal. It is not a forensic finding, identity check, security guarantee, or precise device-location service.
1. Informational purpose
All results and explanations on IPGlance are provided for general information, education, and basic troubleshooting. The site aims to present available signals accurately, but technology, networks, browsers, databases, and external providers change continuously.
2. IP address and approximate location
A public IP address commonly represents the visible edge of a connection: a home router, carrier gateway, workplace, proxy, VPN server, hosting provider, or shared network. It does not reliably identify a particular person or device.
IP geolocation is derived from network-registration and location databases. A result may identify a nearby city, provider facility, regional gateway, or administrative center rather than the visitor’s physical position. It should never be treated as GPS data, a residential address, or proof that a person is present in a place.
3. Browser and device interpretation
Browser, operating-system, and device labels are inferred from user-agent data and browser capabilities. Privacy protections, compatibility modes, emulators, remote sessions, extensions, and reduced user-agent information can make those labels incomplete or incorrect.
Screen size, viewport, memory estimate, CPU-thread estimate, graphics support, language, and time zone reflect what the browser reports at that moment. They are not direct access to device hardware or private files.
4. Privacy and security results
A detected privacy preference or secure HTTPS connection describes one part of the current session. It does not establish anonymity, guarantee that every website honors a preference, or prove that a device, browser, account, or network is free from threats.
IPGlance is not a vulnerability scanner, malware detector, leak investigation service, penetration test, or substitute for a qualified security assessment.
5. Third-party data and availability
Some results depend on external network-information, mapping, content-delivery, hosting, and infrastructure providers. Their data may be delayed, generalized, temporarily unavailable, or governed by separate policies. IPGlance does not control those systems and cannot guarantee their continuous operation.
6. No legal, financial, investigative, or emergency advice
Nothing on the website is legal, financial, law-enforcement, investigative, or professional cybersecurity advice. Do not use an IP result to accuse, locate, identify, or take action against a person. Matters involving fraud, threats, stolen devices, account compromise, or immediate safety should be handled through the appropriate provider, qualified professional, or local authority.
7. Reporting a possible error
If a result appears inaccurate, use the Contact page and include the affected section, the displayed result, what you expected, and whether a VPN, proxy, privacy extension, mobile network, or private browsing window was involved. Do not send credentials or unnecessary personal information.
