Privacy Policy
What IPGlance processes—and why.
This policy explains the information involved when you use IPGlance, which values stay in your browser, when external services receive a request, and what you choose to send through the contact form.
Effective: October 28, 2026IPGlance is a browser and network information service. Some values are calculated inside your browser; other values, including public IP and approximate network location, require a request to a network-information provider.
1. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to visits to IPGlance, use of its browser and network checks, and messages submitted through its contact page. It does not govern websites linked from IPGlance or the independent practices of network, map, hosting, browser, or infrastructure providers.
2. Information processed during a visit
Public network information
To display your public connection, the service may process the IP address visible to the internet, IP version, approximate city or region, country, internet service provider, organization, autonomous system number, and related network classification. IP-based location is approximate and is not GPS data.
Browser-provided information
Your browser may expose its user-agent information, language, time zone, platform, screen and viewport dimensions, pixel ratio, color preference, touch support, hardware-concurrency estimate, device-memory estimate, and support for browser features such as cookies, local storage, IndexedDB, WebAssembly, service workers, WebRTC, canvas, and WebGL.
Many of these checks run locally in your browser. Their purpose is to show what a website can observe from the current session. IPGlance does not read files from your device, inspect unrelated browser history, obtain passwords, or access the private contents stored by other websites.
Contact information you provide
If you use the contact form, IPGlance receives the name, email address, topic, and message you submit. You should not include passwords, payment details, identity documents, or other sensitive information.
Routine technical records
Like most websites, the hosting environment may create security and access logs containing request time, requested URL, response status, user agent, and IP address. These records may be used to operate the service, investigate errors, and protect it from abuse.
3. Why this information is used
- To produce the IP, browser, device, display, connection, and privacy results requested by the visitor.
- To make the interface compatible with different browsers, devices, languages, and display sizes.
- To respond to messages and investigate inaccurate or unavailable results.
- To maintain reliability, prevent misuse, diagnose failures, and secure the website.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce the site terms where applicable.
IPGlance does not present an IP address or browser signal as proof of a person’s identity.
4. External services and network requests
Some functions depend on third-party infrastructure. The public IP and approximate network context may be requested from an IP-information service. Interactive maps may load map tiles and technical assets from mapping or content-delivery providers. Your browser connects directly to those providers, which means they may receive the IP address and routine request information necessary to deliver the resource.
These providers operate under their own terms and privacy practices. IPGlance uses such services to supply the requested feature, not to claim a more precise location than the underlying data supports.
5. Advertising and Google services
When Google AdSense is active, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to serve, measure, personalize, and limit advertising. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on a visitor’s activity on this website or other websites.
Visitors can manage or opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Additional information about how Google uses data on partner websites is available at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Other advertising vendors may provide their own opt-out controls.
Where required, advertising storage and personalization choices are collected through an appropriate consent mechanism before non-essential advertising technologies are used.
6. Cookies, browser storage, and retention
IPGlance can test whether cookies and storage technologies are available without reading data belonging to unrelated websites. Essential WordPress, security, session, or preference technologies may be used when required for site operation. The separate Cookie Policy provides more detail.
Contact messages may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, document an issue, prevent abuse, or satisfy legal requirements. Routine server logs are retained according to operational and hosting needs. Retention periods may vary when a longer period is required for security or law.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You can limit browser-provided signals through browser settings, permission controls, privacy extensions, a VPN, proxy, or a privacy-focused browser. These choices may alter results or prevent a check from completing.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights concerning personal information, including requesting access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. A request may require enough information to locate the relevant record and verify that it concerns you. IPGlance cannot retrieve information it does not hold or identify a contact record from an unrelated public IP alone.
8. Security and limitations
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information. No website, email system, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Visitors should avoid sending information that is not needed to resolve their question.
IPGlance is not intended for children to submit personal information knowingly. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the contact form, use the contact page so the matter can be reviewed.
9. Changes and contact
This policy may be revised when the service, providers, or legal requirements change. A material revision will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page.
Questions or privacy requests can be submitted through the Contact page. Describe the request without including passwords, payment information, or unnecessary sensitive details.
